Do I need any previous flight experience to start?
No. Many students begin with no aviation background at all. A Discovery Flight is often the best first step.
What is a Discovery Flight?
A Discovery Flight is an introductory flight with an instructor, designed to help you experience the aircraft, the training environment, and the first step into aviation.
How much does a Discovery Flight cost?
Our Discovery Flight is $249 and is designed to give you a real introduction to flight training before committing to a larger plan.
How does flight training pricing work?
Training is typically built around aircraft time and instructor time. Our current aircraft rate is $185 per hour wet, and our current instruction rate is $60 per hour.
How often should I plan to fly while training?
Consistency matters. We can help you build a training schedule that matches your goals and availability.
What aircraft will I train in?
Students train in our fully modernized Piper Cherokee with a glass-cockpit training environment designed to support better instruction and situational awareness.
Where are you located?
Volare Aviation is based at Jefferson County Airpark — 600 Airpark Dr, Wintersville, OH 43953.
Do you work with students from Pittsburgh?
Yes. Volare is based in Wintersville and works with students from across the Ohio River Valley and the greater Pittsburgh area who want a more focused and professional training environment.
Is Wintersville worth the drive if I live in Pittsburgh?
For many students, yes. A calmer training environment, clear standards, and a more intentional first step can make the drive worthwhile.

Do you offer advanced ratings?
Yes. In addition to Private Pilot training, we offer training paths for Instrument, Commercial, and instructor (CFI / CFII) ratings.
